Tips and links to use if your pet gets lost
First, don't wait, start looking and using these resources immediately.
Second, don't give up, pets can be found many weeks after they are lost if you are persistent.
Third, don't think other people will remember. Go door to door in the same neighborhoods every 2-3 weeks. You might be the kind of person who puts a flyer on your fridge, many people won't. Replace lost pet posters every couple weeks, using a different color paper each time. Cardstock works better than regular paper, holds up to rain well.
Whether you've lost or found a pet, be sure and file a report with the nearest animal shelter. And if you've lost a pet, visit the shelter in person, they aren't always good at matching your description with a pet they have on hand.
